Deadwood

I tried to research the details on these trees in the Murray River, but can't seem to find direct information. I suspect it's got something to do with the river flooding low-lying areas and or changing course over the decades, but to be honest I'm kinda guessing. Either way, gum trees in the river is an iconic image of the location.
