Vancouver
I experience mixed emotions when I look at photos of Vancouver – I'm caught between nostalgia for my life back then and contentedness for my life now. All things considered I can't quite say one is better than the other, they're just different. Life is interesting that way, things change, situations evolve, and looking back is like watching a timelapse film of driving; the camera stays still while everything else zips past at lightening speed. One day I'm sure I'll feel just as nostalgic about here.
Anyway, on to the shot. This is the panorama from the 39th floor of the Empire Landmark in downtown Vancouver. You've got English Bay on the left, the Westend spread out across the fore/midground, Stanley Park there in mid-right, the North shore mountains in the right background and finally Coal Harbour on the far right (all much more visible in the big shot linked below). Vancouver is a beautiful place to live, and I'm really glad I got to experience it. But I don't miss the rain, let me tell you!
As per usual, super huge version here (4013 x 800px, 3.2MB)
