One thing I love about weddings is the proliferation and acceptance of cameras. It provides me with a venue and the cover to take people shots without feeling like perhaps I shouldn't be sticking a camera or zoom lens in someone's face. It's expected – in fact these days it's requested – by my friends. I'm not the official photographer, so they ask me (already knowing I will) to take the secondary shots; the people, the funky angles, the little bits others might miss. So I do. And if just one of them turns out, adds that extra something to the wedding album, or even just to the memory of the day, then I've done my part and I'm cool with that.
