Easy pickin’s
I need to go back down to the river and take some shots again, because wonder of wonders... the lake is once more full of water! I think the water level was noticably lower for only a few weeks - then a dash of rain combined with the normal trickle from up-stream and things were back to normal. In almost the same amount of time it took the media to move on to the next story.
Anyway, I still have one or two pics from the drained lake so I'll be trickling them out (see what I did there?!) over time. In the meantime, here's a white-faced heron chillin before taking advantage of the easy pickin's in the numerous shallows.
