Beetle Bug

I found this bug in the bathroom the other day. It was alive and seemed happy to stay still for a bit so I thought it might be ideal for some macro shots. Course, soon as I popped it into the light-tent the little blighter got all camera shy and started slowly scuttling around! Gah! Never work with kids and animals. They got that right.

I have no idea what bug it is, but I think it's a beetle of some sort. J, any ideas?

Due to its long nose and general appearance I would say it was an Australian Weevil – not sure exactly – need more reference. :)

K, I think it’s a Banksia Weevil. The two side by side images on this page are pretty darn close to what my guy was.

Have also asked whatsthatbug.com what it is.

Am now fairly grossed out by all those creepy-crawlies! Urgh!
