I went back to the Botanic Gardens today to try out my macro on the bugs and flowers. It's a bloody nice lens, but getting the subject nice and sharp is a bit of a bugger when the wind blows the flowers around. Which is where the USM focussing really comes into its own - makes so much sense on this kind of lens, more sense than on my 10-22mm wide-angle.
