Pale Ale
One of the first things I learned about this town when I was being driven from the airport was which of the local beers one should drink. Coopers, I was told, was THE beer of the discerning drinker. And so, for years I diligently drank it. I enjoyed the pre-opening tradition of turning the bottle upside down to gently mix the sediment - proof they said of no preservatives! I brought cartons to parties, proof that I was a true local. And when inter-state I celebrated at seeing our little local beer standing proudly amongst the massive nationals, proof of its discrerning beeriness!
But all good things must come to an end, and so my dear Coopers, I bid you 'adieu'. I've found pale ales of the Indian variety whose taste my buds prefer, Mexicans whose summery disposition makes your lager a lout, and my Irish stout makes your porter taste decidedly thin! It's been fun, but I think your top's well and truly popped, don't you?
