You don't realise it, but there are loads of local/national things that surround you - you see them everyday but because they're the familiar and the normal you don't really 'see' them. However, to a freshly arrived foreigner they're new, novel, and do stand out simply because they are so unfamiliar!

I've long had the plan to do a series of all the local/national icons here (parking signs, telephone boxes, post boxes etc.) but it hasn't progressed into actuality yet. Well, beyond this shot I suppose.
