K

24 Dec 2007

I read a couple of similar observations in the last week or two, one from an amateur photoblogger like me, one from a professional photographer. The amateur pointed out that we photobloggers mention a shot is from the archives as if it's a bad thing, almost an apology of sorts - 'sorry this is some old piece of shit I had lying around but I haven't been out and about recently'! The pro guy said revisiting archives can be a really good thing because while your first view of the days results is looking for that ONE shot you wanted to achieve, coming back later and viewing all the shots means you're more likely to find the happy-mistakes or better yet, the better shot you hadn't been trying for.

This shot is from my archives, it's over a year old, but does that matter? Nope, not at all. Whether taken last year or last week, it's still a funky shot of K.
