H had a birthday the other weekend, and like last year we made a day of it. Breakfast somewhere nice, then digest for the afternoon, before hitting somewhere really nice for dinner. It's easier than wracking my brain trying to find her something she needs that she hasn't already bought. Besides, we both get to enjoy it, and the pleasure in gifts is giving, right?! Something like that.

I was going to take H here because my boss (who knows these things) says it's pretty swish. But as usual I left everything to the last minute, and when I called to book I swear I could hear the distain in their voice with my short notice. Oh well, next year perhaps.
