Echidna

This is one of the native animals down here, an Echidna. They're mammals, but lay eggs, they do have a pouch but they don't have nipples (they get by with milk patches instead). And to really confuse things, while they might look like a cross between a porcupine and a hedgehog but they're actually closer in genus to the platypus! (I sound really knowledgeable don't I? That's coz I just Wikiducated^TM myself!)

But whatever their classification, or strange nurturing practises they're cute little critters and I love them regardless. Wonder if you're allowed keep them as pets!?
