Hangin’ Round

This is the gallows in the Hanging Tower at the local gaol, where 4 people were hanged. Even though they've been out of comission for 40+ years, it was a noticably cold and uncomfortable place.

While there wasn't much in the tower, there were a few information posters on the walls so we walked around and looked at them. Just before we left H commented that we'd both been stepping over, not on, the trap-door every time we crossed the floor. Guess we just didn't trust it!
