Dodgy Wog
I don't take many portraits of people, mainly because I get frustrated if the best shot I end up with isn't as good as the shot I imagined. But also, I'm avoiding the pressure of capturing that successful shot - which is why I've got a shit-load of buildings and flowers on here, they don't ask to see the end result and get pissed if it's not their ideal side!
So any portraits I do have that I'm proud of are the rarity, not the norm. This is one of them. This is "I" (that's the initial of his first name, not "me") from one particularly excellent sunny afternoon H & I, H's sister C and "I" her boyfriend spent out of town.
We were all just lying back on the grass, staring up at the clouds, enjoying the sun. He didn't know I was taking this shot, I think he thought I was flipping through the shots I'd already taken. And that's the kind of portrait I like, the unposed shot you get when people aren't aware they're being photographed.
One of my favourites.
