Sydney Orange House
I saw some architecture program on TV recently where some badly eccentric English idiot enthusiastically explained that the roof of the Sydney Opera House was decided upon as the most structurally sound and (more importantly) economically viable solution for the building. Then, whipping out an orange, he went on to explain the beautiful simplicity of the 'shells' by cutting out same sized arcs from one half of the rind and then placed them on the steps in miniature orange construction of the building in the background, before pompously walking out of shot.
Now, whenever I see the damn opera house, I see oranges! Tossbag!
