As a kid owls were my favourite animal, and I even had a stuffed toy one called "Owlie" (a pretty good name don't ya think?!) But somewhere along the line penguins won me over, and now I have a great affinity with them. At least once a year I'll visit my little friends, be it the local zoo, the penguin tours down south, or the zoo/aquarium in another city. I have March of the Penguins (hate the voice-over) and the earlier (though lesser known) New Zealand version 'Emperors of Antarctica', I have glow in the dark penguins and also a couple of plush penguins.

The point of all this? H & I are heading to the big smoke for a conference, which will be nice. It also means we'll hit the aquarium or the zoo, but either way I get to see my little people. Really looking forward to it, I tell ya! - I'll wave a flipper at them for you.
