Take Flight

We were driving along in the Riverland when we passed a lush green park with a flock of Ibis happily grazing on the lawn. Now, Ibis (or to use the collective noun H & I made up; Ibi) aren't all that unusual down here, but I'd never seen a flock of them before so I stopped the car and jumped out, camera in hand.

Of course, soon as I came with 20 metres a couple of the birds got skittish and flap-hopped away. Then, as I walked closer, some others got scared and next thing I knew the whole flock was taking to the air. Bugger! Most flew off down the other end of the park, but the lazy ones just did a slow circle around the area and seemed happy enough to land in a near-by tree.
