Superb Fairy-wren

Last weekend when H & I went for a walk in the Hills, we came across loads of these curious little birds flitting across the hiking path and darting around the edges of the trickling stream. And for the first time in many-many years I had binoculars and a bird book on me, so we were able to identify them as Superb Fairy-wrens. Tiny little birds, and very quick too.

This weekend I went back and took the time to search for them, wanting to get some shots. Like I said, they're quick, and they sure gave my auto-focus servo a big work-out, but they're stunning little birds. - I haven't been bird-watching since I was a teenager. My Oma would be proud!
