Arcadia

07 Dec 2006

A few things sprung to mind this evening when I was processing this shot. Firstly, does anyone else think it's ironic that I tend to favour using my wide-angle for 'lengthy' shots like this? I mean (note to self) it's wide, not long! But there's just something about the wide + long that lights my fire!

Also, this shot and this shot are strangely similar. Perhaps the architecture is of a similar time-period? Dunno, I'm not that versed on the specifics of architecture. I tend to just shoot what I see.

Which leads me to my last point. They say a 50mm lens is the closest approximation to what the human eye sees. Dunno about you, but unless I'm deep in thought on my way to work (or avoiding my surroundings) I definitely see more from extreme left to extreme right than 50mm. Or perhaps it's just most people (including me most of the time) have tunnel-vision, though I try to remind myself to open my eyes every now and again.

Oh yeah, small favour to ask. Can you vote for me here? Just takes one click and then a quick registration and you're good. - The theme is 'embrace the blur' and I honestly reckon my shot is one of the few groovy ones! Defintely against the boring majority of blurred dog/kid or motion-blur train/car/bus. All votes appreciated, but don't delay because voting ends 8 Dec, so do it! Do it now! Your mother would be proud of you. - Ta.
