The Door

The Door

04 Dec 2006

I went back to the Port on the weekend, to have another look around and see if I couldn't pick some new stuff out. But what-do-ya-know, when I drove by this building it called to me again, so I paid it a second visit.

I clambered round the near-by gang-way a bit, then gave The Old Milling Company the second look it wanted. As I gazed up, there was something about this (un)loading door on the top floor that grabbed my attention. I honestly can't say what, there was just something about it.

Jump forward to Sunday evening when I was processing the shot, and out of no-where H (who doesn't usually see what I post before it's live) took one glance at my screen and said "That building's haunted!" - And you know, I'm not even sure she's ever seen the place in person. But hey, she's like that, she calls it how she sees it.

So I'm titling this The Door because there's something drawing me to this door, and it made me think of Aldous Huxley's The Doors of Perception from which The Doors are supposed to have taken their name.
