Blown It
Every heard the old saying; "it's a poor workman who blames his tools"? Well I know it's not my tools, so right now I have to suspect it's me.
See, I knew my faithful ol' G3 quite well, knew how to work it to get the shot I wanted. (Well, most of the time.) But the 400D is an entirely different beast, and where I was starting to find the limitations of the G3, I'm now starting to find the limitations of me.
So here's my first step to recovery; I need to learn more about how cameras work, and how to get the shot I want. Take, for example, this shot. There's a deep blue sky beyond this building, and I wanted to catch the perspective I saw, of the building stretching off into the sky. But instead I've completely blown out the sky, and while I don't mind the shot as it is, it's not what I intended.
So I guess I need to read and practise some more. But that's cool, this is what it's all about.
