400D
It's finally time, after 4 good years with my trusty G3 I've upgraded to a Canon EOS 400D! The G3 was/is a fantastic camera, but I was beginning to find it ever so slightly limiting. The 400D on the other hand has so much to it that I'll have lots of room to grow. Which I'm hoping means better shots. In time that is, in time!
Funny story from when I bought the 400D... I was checking out the display model and wanted to see how well it handled macro stuff so I stood at the counter, held the camera at waist height and pointed it at some brochure on the counter. I half-pressed the shutter... nothing. I moved the camera back a tad then half-pressed the shutter, but still no image came up on the screen. I looked at the shop chick and she said very matter-of-factly "Em, you need to look through here," she said as she tapped on the camera, "...the viewfinder, you know?!" Doah! I was so used to framing things at arms length, the whole idea of holding the camera to my eye hadn't sunk in!
