The Approach

Having stayed over-night in near-by Beatty we were speeding towards our destination by about 8am. Down the road, round the corner, and over a small hill before being suddenly presented with this fantastic vista... the road into Death Valley. I think we did a simultaneous "oh wow!" before I pulled over and jumped out to grab a panorama.

As I took my shots, something at the top of a small ridge to my right caught my eye... now, bear in mind we were a few miles out of town and heading towards the middle of nowhere, not to mention it was 8am and already the day was heating up... I squinted to make it out as I shielding my eyes from the sun ... and then it waved at me, casually calling out a cheery "Mornin'!". Fuck me, it was some crazy jogger, running up a bloody hill! Madness I tell you, sheer madness!
