Dismal
I drove a couple of hours north on the weekend, mainly to meet with a client, but it was also a nice excuse for a bit of a drive and afterwards I planned on exploring the local area to grab some new shots. But the weather had other ideas. It was cold and grey when I left, and by the time I was free to explore around, the promised rain made me have second thoughts about the whole idea.
At the very least I knew I wanted to grab some shots of ruined houses that you inevitably find every now and again, usually not too far from the busy roadside. But the one chance I had between dismal showers was this house, and after clambering over two rusty barbed wire fences and through the rain laden undergrowth only to end up with cold wet feet and a shot I was unimpressed with, I decided to call it a day. Of course, the barbed wire fences welcomed the repeat opportunity to snag my jeans, and the undergrowth was more than happy to share yet more rain with my shoes. Such fun.
And then to top it all off, the bland grey day offered crap lighting for my shot, so I had to blow out the sky to get any contrast as all. Perhaps it works better as a sepia shot? Open to feedback here people.
