Victoria’s Secret

Every now and again you take a shot you're very, very proud of. A shot that reminds you why you go out and take as many shots as you do. A shot you want to sell, that H will tell you to sell, but that you're just content in knowing you took. This is my Victoria's Secret.

I've been thinking about taking this shot for a month or more, and just never made it down to take it. But on my way home from the beach wander, as the light began to fade, I thought I'd take a detour through town and check on the fountain. When I got there the sky was still too bright so I took a handful of test shots, then shivered on a near-by bench as I waited for dusk.

This was one of my first few dusk shots. Even though I continued to try various points around the fountain, some near, some far, some high, some low, this first or second shot was the one that came out on top. - I think it's also the first time I've managed to successfully take a long-exposure shot of water, so I'm happy with that alone. Plus, you know me and my thing for night shots!

So why "Victoria's Secret"? It's a reference to the Square the fountain is situated in, and also it's alluding to the fact that though all locals are familiar with this fountain it's not really an obvious point of attraction. But I know I'll never look at it the same again.
