This weekend M&A had their engagement party. I think engagement parties are a bit of a non-event, simply because not everyone who gets married gets engaged, and not everyone who gets engaged gets married. Plus there's the whole expectation of presents etc, which I don't do.

That said, M&A are good friends, and there was an open bar, so I couldn't not go. H&I had a few drinks at home to get warmed up, so by the time we got down there we were already in a good mood, and aside from unknown M&A family people, there were a number of friends there so we just mingled and chatted. It was all good.

This was towards the end of the evening, after M had managed to get through his speech (doesn't like public speaking does M!) and there was a group of the guys at the bar. M order a round of Tequila, and who were we to refuse. - Thanks to the barman who was kind enough to line the glasses and limes up, despite the guys getting impatient!
