Stamen Parade
Still on my Botanic ramble of the last couple of days I came across this very delicate flower. A nice bright white against it's dark green foliage, the prominent green stamens heavy with orange pollen seemed to just cry out for a bee or insect to help spread the dusty pollen. I waited for a minute or two to see if any bees were taking notice, but all was quite.
When I was cropping the shot, I thought the stamens holding the pollen thingeys aloft looked like candle lanterns, the kind you might see in night-time parades. A long stick with a bright shape hanging from the end. Hence the name.
