This is a detail of one of the boats from Floating. As I mentioned before, I never heard a word about this piece of public art, so when I was processing my shots I did a bit of research and read up about it. There was the usual bullshit-artist-wank statement, but at the core were some interesting ideas on language, dispossession, migration, settlers, indigenous, and the erosion of each.

The boats are mode from architectural glass, and the text fired onto the glass comes from letters written home by the migrant settlers.
