I mentioned the other day that I'd previously worked as a bartender for a short while. Of all the bar tender's duties, the one I never got the hang of was cocktails. Never could remember the recipes, measures, mix/build order etc. Once took me 30 minutes to make 3 cocktails, and even then I got the order wrong!

But there were two shooters I had down pat! What's called a Quick Fuck, or 'QF' if you prefer. And this one, the Cocksucking Cowboy, a.k.a. the 'CC' in polite company or if a girl is ordering. (Funny, girls shied away from saying cock, but the guys quick happily requested cocksucking, cowboy hat or not.)

And the trick to good layering? Quite simply; the right tools! See, the thing about tending bar is you have the tools of the trade right there, and believe me when I say it makes all the difference. - So do yourself a favour and buy some nip-pourers or free-flow caps. Then control the flow of spirits by putting your finger over the little air-hole (it's there if you look) and THAT's the secret to getting a clean, non-cloudy layer! Enjoy.
