The Botanic

N, a close friend who's birthday was coming up, decided to celebrate with some drinks in town on the weekend. So we all met up at The Botanic, a nice stylish place with bartenders that know their cocktails (and in my opinion have a slight attitude about it, or maybe it's just me?)

Anyway, it's a cool mix of a place, part stylish people, part Swiss chalet, part hunting lodge (including obligatory deer head on wall) and part lounge. I'm not sure how to describe the over-all interior but one thing you don't see that often is sound baffling on the wall. I don't reckon they have it for any noise reducing properties, but simply because it looks kinda cool. And it does.

I've been wanting to grab a pic of it for ages, because the glow of the light on the texture always strikes me as a good photo, but I never seem to have my camera on me when I'm there. Thankfully, this time I was prepared. Though, being the procrastinator that I am, it wasn't until the group decided to move on to another location that I hurriedly snapped this shot. - Hmmm, it'll do for now, but I think I'll go back and take more time on it.
