Myst-ery
Shortly after I got my camera, H's parents offered to take us on a Sunday drive to give me the opportunity to see the local wine region and to take some photos. It was really good of them, because on more than one occassion when we were driving along some road or other I'd see something, ask them to stop and they'd patiently wait while I ran around a field, or someone's long driveway, or some little pond literally on the side of the road.
One of the places we stopped was a dam. The wall of this particular dam had a curve that allowed the sound of a normal voice to carry quite clearly to someone listening 150 feet away at the other end of the curved wall. It's a bit of a tourist attraction.
Anyway, while walking along the top of the dam wall, this particular structure caught my eye and instantly made me think of Myst, the adventure game that was such a big thing way back when. Just the strange sphere held high and the baracade preventing access, made me wonder how this piece fitted in with the big puzzle that was the game.
Start the year right with a designer Detour calendar. January 09 and February 09 now available.
