Wasp
This shot uses the same technique as Yellow-Blue which is an in-camera colour shift. No photoshopping done here.
I'd just gotten my camera and it was a long-weekend. H's parents invited us for a bit of a drive around so I could see more of the local wine region and for me to take some photos. We stopped at one place with a nice grand old house and I took some shots. Then I noticed the bees/wasps buzzing around the flowers and though I'm not a fan of insects, I thought there could be an interesting photo there. But wasps are tricky little devils, they can be difficult to get a focus-lock on, and they tend to move out of frame once you do have them focussed. So while they buzzed all about me, I held still and kept focus on one spot, hoping a wasp would harvest pollen right where I wanted it to. Took a little while, but eventually I got it. And then I got the hell out of there!
Start the year right with a designer Detour calendar. January 09 and February 09 now available.
