When I first got my camera, I looked around the net and came across a couple of photo challenge sites. I followed Photo Friday and Theme Thursday for a while, and entered a few shots into the odd weekly challenge. Never won, but I think I got an honourable mention one time.

Anyway, this was going to be my entry for "Symmetry". For some reason or other, I didn't manage to submit it on time so it became yet another shot relegated to the archives. Which is one of the reasons why I'm phlogging^TM now.

The other story here is about the slinky. I worked in a bar for 6 months one time, practically ran the place half the time (no, really) coz my boss was bored with it all. Anyway, one club night we had some drink promo going on which meant we had the pretty (and pretty bored) promo dudes n chics smiling about the place. It was early in the evening so the place wasn't going off yet, and the promo people were visably bored. One of the dudes sulks over to my bar and asks if he can grab a water "Sure man, no problem." As he waits, he flips this multi-coloured slinky from hand to hand. "Hey! Cool," I say. He offers it to me and says, "Swap you for the water?". Done!

And I still have the damn thing! Funny how you accumulate crap like that in your life.
