H's sister, L, was working at one of the local radio stations and in the run-up to one of the annual massive parties (raves) the promoters were running a competition that L said might be up my alley. They wanted listeners to send in their crazy/whacky party pics, for a big prize pack with a bunch of tickets, a CD, a DVD, hat, etc. in it. No problem I thought, since I take pics like there's no tomorrow when I'm intoxicated! So, fingers crossed, I sent some in. The response was "they're nice, but too arty, we want whacky people shots!"

Hmmm. So I delved back into my archives and sent some more. No response, not even one of the small daily winner spots! Feeling a little disheartened and with the competition nearly over, I gave it one last try with about three shots, and what-do-ya-know... one of them was the winner! Sweet!

But then, after winning the 10 tickets I couldn't find enough friends to give them away to! Bloody hell! Probably didn't help that it was a noon-midnight all-ages event! But free tickets people? C'mon!

Anyway, between friends and friends of friends I did manage to off-load them all, and ended up with a good little group of us who hit the party and had a really good time. Wandering round, chatting, as you do.

This was at the start of things, when we were all lounging around on the crash-mats (event was held in a gym complex). Just a couple of light-sticks with the dance-floor in the background. Love the colours.
