There are two parts to this picture. The story behind it, and end image.

There was a wine festival in the local wine region, and a friend of a friend had organised a coach, filling it with her friends and their friends. H & I fell into that combination somewhere. We knew it was going to be a long day when turned up at the 8am carpark meeting point to discover a small group of blokes with beers in hand, and empties on the ground.

Anyway, aside from the pissheads, and long line-ups, the tour was a good bit of fun. We hit a handful of wineries, enjoyed the good wine and excellent food on offer. Even bumped into some other friends at one winery.

Towards the end of the day, H was looking forward to the chocolate mousse at our last stop, so once off the bus I dashed to the line and got her one of the last pieces. Then we sat with our friends, watching the sun set over the wide valley, while one of the pissheads attempted to climb a tree right in the view. Somehow the pisshead managed to get into a bit of a fight with a complete stranger while climbing the tree. When he fell to the ground (out of tree) he proceeded to get a bit agro with the stranger!

A bit before the tree-climbing antics, I'd had a bit of a wander round the winery and came across the rusted shell of an old truck, which I scoped out for a good shot before framing behind the cart-wheels. I thought the shot might have something.

Skip forward a few weeks/months to when I first heard about Lomo's. Defining a lifestyle. One blurry saturated photo at a time it seemed. Then there was the Holga, which sans marketing hype and extortionate price tag was more my style, were I looking for a 'toy camera'. But why buy another camera when digital can be degraded to mimic one? Not the same I know, but the style is there, and I kinda like it all the same. My Holga shot.
