H's sister's boyfriend had a birthday party at the house his Mum had just bought him. He wasn't living there, so it was really just a shell of a house, emphasised by the high ceilings you find in this part of the world. Pre-aircon era.

He'd rented some decks and speakers, and told everyone to come along. We'd planned a big night, even left another party to be there. But only 10 or so people turned up, and it was all a bit of a non-event really.

But as I wandered around, I came across one of the few party decorations he'd set-up. An ultra-violet light. I saw a potential photo using just the light as the subject, but it wasn't until I looked at the results that I saw the reflection. Unintentional, but perfect.

This is one of my earliest shots that came out better than I expected.
